A true child of "Nuggets", THEE FOURGIVEN took over 1984 - 1988 in the post Paisley Underground scenes in Los Angeles and San Diego. Taking the sound a step farther than their garage-rock peers, THEE FOURGIVEN was influenced outside of 1966, utilizing surf, BLUE CHEER, ALICE COOPER, THE CRAMPS and exotica. The group played two European tours, where they had rabid followings in Italy and Germany, and amassed heavy airplay from RODNEY ON THE ROQ, national college and alternative radio. They released three albums on Dionysus Records, including the label's first full-length release, "It Ain't Pretty Down Here", which is included in it's entirety on this disc. This CD also has the best tracks from THEE FOURGIVEN albums "Testify" and "Salvation Guaranteed" and is enhanced with a rare video for the song "Anything" which comes off the long out-of-print "Dionysus Obnoxious Rock 'n' Roll Video Hour."
