Costanzo visited Havana three times in the 1940s and learned to play Afro-Cuban rhythms on the bongos and congas. Many Hollywood stars studied bongos with him, including: Marlon Brando, Rita Moreno, Tony Curtis, Betty Grable, and Gary Cooper.
