{"id":2525,"date":"2012-01-11T16:59:47","date_gmt":"2012-01-11T21:59:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dionysusrecords.com\/home\/?p=2525"},"modified":"2012-01-11T16:59:47","modified_gmt":"2012-01-11T21:59:47","slug":"a-letter-to-you-from-redondo-beats-roman-aul","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dionysusrecords.com\/home\/a-letter-to-you-from-redondo-beats-roman-aul\/","title":{"rendered":"A letter to you from Redondo Beat&#8217;s Roman Aul"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hey everybody!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dionysusrecords.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/Roman-Photo-by-Michael-Dominici-e1326318854991.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[2525]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2526\" title=\"Roman- Photo by Michael Dominici\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dionysusrecords.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/Roman-Photo-by-Michael-Dominici-e1326318854991.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"348\" \/><\/a>Well, it\u2019s been quite a while! But I can tell you 2011 was a very busy year for us. Since the release of our third album \u201c<em>Meet Redondo Beat<\/em>\u201d last January we\u2019ve been getting a lot of attention, and have been playing quite a lot. Touring Southern Europe last summer was amazing! People in Spain were crazy about the new album. Radio 3 DJ, El Sotano, opened one of his shows playing three songs back to back, and also listed \u201cDo you wanna have this dance?\u201d in his top 50 songs of the year. \u00a0Playing at the Fast Fun and Bizarre festival in Logrono made us once again realize how much we love it down there. Watch out Spain, we\u2019ll be back this May. In the fall, we toured the United States once again, and it was great as always! We started out on the west coast and slowly made our way to the east, spending quite some time in New Orleans, hanging out at the No.1 music festival, the Ponderosa Stomp. Playing with the Preachers Kids again in Oxford, Ms brought back sweet memories and while spending a week in Memphis we even ended up playing at Gonerfest. Good times!<\/p>\n<p>As we made our way up north, we were sobered by the terrible news that our great friend Zoltan Shoubber passed away. We\u2019ve been playing with him a lot in the past 10 years, and you can hear him on some of our records. We instantly included \u201cTigergirl\u201d by the Tigermen in our set, which was one of Zoltan\u2019s faves. He was way too young and is sadly missed.<\/p>\n<p>In all we had a great time, playing in great cities, with great bands such as the Royal Pendletons, Missing Monuments, and the Party Stompers. Thanks to Van Thompson, Scott Rogers, Gabriel Hammond, Adam Gaither and all the bands we <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dionysusrecords.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/Max-Photo-by-Michael-Dominici.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[2525]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2528\" title=\"Max- Photo by Michael Dominici\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dionysusrecords.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/Max-Photo-by-Michael-Dominici-e1326319038233.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"281\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a>played with.
