The fake cake sculptures,  with  their display of beauty and potential for satisfaction, lure the  viewer  into a sense of anticipation. They also contain elements, not   immediately seen, that create a sense of anxiety and fear. This in turn   creates a visual and emotional resonance that is intended to represent   what we all have to deal with in our lives every day&#8230;the hunt for   satisfaction and the anxiety that we won&#8217;t get it.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nScott Hove<\/strong>&#8216;s works encompasses a broad variety of media, from   sculptural installations to painting. The cakes are formed using   carvable polyurethane foam and plywood. They are frosted with a variety   of acrylic media and accessorized with fake fruit and other objects   found in stores or on the street.\u00a0 The materials and techniques borrow   from traditional and decorative arts and craft to render the oftentimes   jarring objects and fantasy installations. <\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: large;\"><strong>TREATS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/leejosephpublicity.com\/uploads\/0000\/1421\/homemade-cherry-pop-tart-nickel-274.jpg\" alt=\"\" hspace=\"8\" align=\"bottom\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Arial;\"><em><strong>All American  Softy<\/strong><\/em> was started by <strong>Mike Munsantry<\/strong>,<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Arial;\"> a former NY Police officer &#8212; who  after being on duty during  the tragedy at the September 11 World Trade Center and over a year  afterward at Ground Zero during clean-up &#8212; packed up, moved west and  started a &#8220;Mister Softee&#8221; style ice cream truck.<\/span> <span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Arial;\">All American Softy serves up soft  serve ice cream cones  dipped in  chocolate with sprinkles, root beet floats and slushies, hot pretzels  and hot drinks like espresso, tea and hot chocolate. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Arial;\">Frank Sinatra and other smooth  lounge sounds gently  flow from the speakers of the spotless stainless steel All American  Softy truck. <a style=\"color: #000000 ! important;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.allamericansofty.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.allamericansofty.com<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Arial;\"><strong>Sharlena Fong<\/strong> is the pastry chef at downtown L.A.&#8217;s <em><strong>Nickel   Diner<\/strong><\/em>.
