Orchestra Superstring creates exotic Latin jazz sounds inspired by Martin Denny, Sun Ra and Cal Tjader. The music is mysterious, seductive and three-dimensional, evoked by a seven-piece band using vibraphone, guitars, guitorgan, tres, trumpet, accordion, upright bass and lots of percussion. Key member DJ Bonebrake (best known for his drumming in X), an accomplished vibe player, has recorded as a vibe player on GEZA X's You Goddam Kids (as reissued on Bacchus Archives), The Flesheaters' A Minute to Pray, a Second to Die, and he also has played with Eleni Mandell, Paula Cole, Deke Dickerson and others.
